I went to see Dr Porter after having 7 weeks of inexplicable pain , resulting in a hospital stay of a week ,umpteen antibiotics and tests and 7 weeks off work (unpaid) . I asked her to look at my case from a different perspective and she listened to my whole detailed version and was very proactive in wanting to manage my pain . Together we worked together to make plan of action and after leaving the surgery I had a more positive outlook and a satisfactory treatment along with the the reassurance and support of follow up if it was needed . I felt listened to and taken seriously . Dr Porter took into consideration that this was not only affecting me and my wok but my family also .
